Homeschool consulting and coaching with Heidi is available for $75 per hour with a one-hour minimum. Consultations can take place in-person, over the phone, or via email, depending on your needs.

Are you facing a unique situation or just need someone to work with you individually to answer your homeschooling questions?  Then one-on-one consulting is the right choice for you.

I can help you in the following areas and more:

  • Course Selection Should my student take community college classes? AP? Which classes should he take? Should we do a public school partnership? Why or why not? Which online classes are a good fit for my student, if any?

  • Testing Should my student take the SAT or the ACT? What about SAT IIs? CLEPs? How does my student register for AP tests? Can my student self-study for APs? If so, how?

  • College Search Which colleges should we be considering? How do I determine if a school is a reach, match, or safety? How many safeties does my student need? What is the difference between an academic reach and a financial reach?

  • College Visits What should we look for on college visits? When is the best time to visit? How often? With whom should we visit while on campus?

  • Transcript Creation How should I format the transcript—by subject or date or both?

  • Writing the Counselor Letter What should I say? How do I start? How long should it be? What should I include?

  • Creating a High School Plan How do I plan an impressive education for my STEM student? Liberal arts student? What experiences should we be considering?

  • Strategic Extracurriculars What are admissions counselors seeking in terms of extracurricular activities, and how can I position my student in the best way possible?

  • Letters of Recommendation Who should my student ask for a letter of recommendation? How is that process completed?

  • Scholarship Opportunities Where are the best scholarship opportunities for my student? What are the requirements and deadlines? How can I give my student the best chance at winning?

  • Financial Aid Packages How do I evaluate the financial aid packages my student has received? What does "needs-met" mean, and how does it pertain to me? What is my expected family contribution? How does work-study function?

  • Writing the Student Essay What should my student write? How does my student improve his essay? What should the essay include? Omit?

  • Learning Disabilities and Accommodations My student is dyslexic; how do I request accommodations on the ACT/SAT? Why would I? How do I ensure my student is poised to succeed in classes?

  • Giftedness, Grade Acceleration, and Selective College Experiences How can I advocate for my gifted child? What should I consider before I graduate my student early? How can I get my student involved in exclusive opportunities like summer college programs?

  • Parental Support How will I ever do all of this by myself?! You don't have to go it alone!
